When you open the site

The site is hosted by Metanet AG in Switzerland. Its server logs every request: IP address, time, the address requested, the page you came from and the identifier of your browser.

We only use these logs to investigate faults and attacks. The legal basis under the GDPR is our legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f)).

What is stored in your browser

The site stores two settings in your browser: the language you chose and whether you agreed to analytics. Both stay in your browser and are not sent to us. You can delete them with the site data in your browser settings.

Google Analytics, only with your consent

If you agree in the notice at the bottom of the screen, the site loads Google Analytics 4. Before that, it makes no connection to Google.

Google Analytics shows us which pages are read, where visits come from, for example a search engine or LinkedIn, and which devices are used. For this, Google sets the cookies “_ga” and “_ga_…”, valid for up to two years, and sends details of your visit to Google. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA, which is certified under the EU-U.S. and the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Google deletes event data after the retention period set in Google Analytics, at the latest after 14 months.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time: with the button here or with “Change analytics setting” at the end of every page.

The contact form

If you send us a request, your details go by email to our mailbox at Metanet AG, with a copy to a mailbox at Google. You receive a confirmation at the address you entered.

We only use your details to answer your request and to prepare an engagement, and delete them once they are no longer needed for that. The legal basis is pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). If sending fails, the server stores the error message with the time, not the content of the request.

Booking a demo

When you request a demo, we store your first name, last name, company, email address and phone number on our server at Metanet AG in Switzerland — in a file outside the web directory that cannot be retrieved from outside. At the same time a notification goes to our mailbox at Metanet AG and, as a copy, to a mailbox at Google.

We need the details to decide on the request and to get back to you; the phone number so we can reach you if something is unclear. Who else we send them to: nobody. The legal basis is pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

We delete the request twelve months after the decision. The server does that on its own. You can ask for earlier deletion at any time.

Fonts, images, links

Fonts and images are served from our own server. The site loads nothing from third-party servers, except Google Analytics after your consent. Links to LinkedIn are ordinary links: LinkedIn only learns something when you follow one.

Your rights

You can ask what data we hold about you and have it corrected or deleted. You can withdraw consent at any time. Under the GDPR you also have the right to restriction of processing, to data portability and to object.

To do so, write to the address above. You can lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, if you live in the EU, with the data protection authority of your country.
