Who is behind Aura51, and how far along is it?
In short
Aura51 has two founders from digital media, Oliver Schibli and Martin Radelfinger. Aura51.ai is a sole proprietorship of Oliver Schibli in Horgen, Switzerland, that brings AI avatars to the stage at events worldwide. It is in beta. The technology is built and measured live, in tests on a laptop with people in the room.

We sat at the laptop ourselves
One of our test days ran from early afternoon into the evening. At the start, both of us sat at the laptop, one as moderator and the other as guest.
In our live tests, one person usually spoke as moderator and another as guest; in a few runs, an AI voice took the guest’s part. From that day on, at least one of us was there every time, calling the AI avatar by name.
At the microphone, we noticed that we rarely ask a question in one go. One of us took so long to get to the point that the AI avatar only answered once its name came at the end; since then it stays in the conversation as long as someone keeps talking. In the run after that, it started in a pause while the question was still unfinished.
After that run, we wrote down five points from our own feedback, each with a fix. The next run, an hour after the day’s first, already had the first of those fixes in it. In that run, the AI avatar pulled back an answer before it could be heard because someone kept talking; it still lost the start of the question doing so.

02Beta
What does beta mean for us?
We measured in the lab and live on a laptop, with people in the room speaking freely.
Not all of it is proven live. Of the eleven capabilities we describe, one has been measured only in the lab, not yet live: reacting to an interjection. The same goes for how our AI avatars summarize long discussions: we know that only from the lab so far.
Our tests are logged with figures and glitches.
03Pilot
Wanted: pilot events
We are looking for events where one of our AI avatars joins the discussion as a pilot, on pilot terms.
We bring the technology and run it ourselves. At the event, one of us sits next to your sound engineer.

Inquiries reach us in Horgen
Write to us, including about a pilot event. In your inquiry, tell us when the event takes place, what format it has and what it is about. We agree on the labeling and the date together, with about two weeks of lead time before the event.
